Children’s Moment for Palm Sunday B – 24-March-24
24-March-24 (Mark 11:1-11)
Hosanna! That's what the people were saying when Jesus rode into town on a donkey. Do you know what "hosanna" means? It's sort of like "Hurray!" or "Yay God!" and people were very excited to see Jesus at this time. They thought he might do some miracles. Maybe even something really big like freeing the people from the Romans.
So most people were excited because they were thinking about what Jesus could do for them. Jesus, on the other hand, had been showing people how to serve God and serve others; how to show the love of God by loving other people. Jesus was more concerned about what people could do for God and for others.
Let's talk to God about that.
Prayer:
God, we thank you for Jesus, who showed us your love and showed us how to love you and others. Help us not to think only about what you can do for us. Help us to think about what we can do for you and for others. Help us to be more like Jesus.
In the name of Jesus, our Christ, AMEN
