Offering Meditation for Epiphany 2C – 19-Jan-25
19-Jan-25 (John 2:1-11)
I wonder if Jesus, in John's gospel, seems to be reluctant to openly begin his ministry at the wedding in Cana. I think we can understand. Sometimes we're reluctant to be seen in a particular way.
As we come to the time of offering, we might recognize ourselves as standing in the middle of what we're comfortable with and what we're called to do.
The challenge is to find a way to authentically give our ourselves for the good of others, to challenge ourselves to make those next steps in doing the ministry of God here and around us.
Let's consider that as we take up our offering for today.
Prayer:
God who challenges us to take up your ministry and to give of ourselves in service to you and to others, bless these gifts, returned to your hand, that they will be used in ministries that speak your love in our world. Bless us as well, that we can become the representatives of your love in the world around us. Continue to move us to become your presence in our world.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Savior, Amen.
