Offering Meditation for Easter 2C – 27-Apr-25
27-Apr-25 Second Sunday of Easter (John 20:19-31)
How do we see Jesus' presence in our lives? It's not likely that we'll see him in the body, but we can see him in the work that God carries out through the body of Christ known as the Church. The sick and suffering are cared for. People who are lonely and in prison are visited. People in need of food, shelter, and clothing have their needs met. It's all done through the hands of people like you and me and through our generous gifts to the church as well.
As the deacons come to take up our offering for today, consider your part, how you can give of your time, talents, and treasure to continue the work of the body of Christ.
Prayer:
Please join me now in the spirit of prayer.
God whose work is done through the humble hands of your servants throughout the world, we pray for these gifts that we've returned to your hand. Use them and multiply them that they can meet the needs of those longing for help and a sense of your presence.
Use us as well. Use our gifts and our time as well to meet the needs of those around us.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Risen Lord, Amen.
