This week we have a special worship that we hope you will want to be part of, and share around. Yes, at 42 minutes it is slightly longer than our usual Sunday worship, but we have a special focus and special guests with us. We offer this DisciplesNet worship in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in calling for this Sunday to be End Racism Sunday.
We add our voices and prayers this day as Disciples of Christ and in ecumenical partnership with many other denominations, congregations and individuals around the world.
The call do this worship comes from the historically black AME Church as a way to reframe the horrible June 17, 2015 killings of nine members of the historic Mother Emanuel congregation during a Bible Study, allegedly by young white man claiming racist motives.
We are honored to have as our guest preacher this week the Rev. Dr. Timothy James, who speaks from his heart about "The Miracle of Love." Dr. James is the Associate General Minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the US and Canada, and the Administrative Secretary of the National Convocation.
