We invite you to listen or sing along with us on this old gospel favorite, written by Albert E. Brumley and recorded by Dean Phelps. We've added photos, scripture and words to Dean's recording from his CD, Going Over Home (1997), especially for our online viewers.
This song is a powerful one that many find comforting and reassuring at the time of the death of a loved one, or as their own death nears. If you have found this song under these circumstances, we offer our sincere prayers for you; we've produced this video as part of our ministry for people during such trying times. We give permission to use this in a worshipful manner, including in a memorial or funeral setting, but it is not for resale.
All of our work at DisciplesNet is offered free so that cost is less likely to be a barrier, but it does cost us to produce each video, and we are so grateful for ones who've made contributions that have made sharing this video and global ministry possible. If you would like to make a one time or ongoing contribution to help us make and share more videos like this, please visit our website at www.disciplesnet.org.
You can also email us at pastor@disciplesnet.org, with questions, comments, or contributions.
We are grateful to pastor and musician Dean Phelps for permission to use his recording here. Find this and more of Dean's work at deanphelpsmusic.com. The CD Going Over Home is out of print, but the songs are available for download on his site.
Thanks for joining us! And may God's healing and uplifting presence be with you this day and for all eternity.

DisciplesNet Church invites you a special time of peaceful listening to 50 minutes of Christmas hymns and carols, played one after another on piano by Beverly Carmichael Heid. Bev (last name pronounced "hide") knows what it is like to have health challenges and other struggles. In such times, Bev finds cheer in bringing it to others with reminders of God's love and the light of Christ for each person. Continue reading →

Spirit is a favorite hymn that tells a story in its four verse God's Spirit through the ages, including in our life today.
All four verses of the song are sung here, with accompanying photos and video. It is sung by Dean Phelps and accompanied by Sue Dykes on the piano. Our disclaimer is that when we recording the song, Dean and Sue were practicing, but we enjoyed it enough to share it with you, with their permission. We hope you are blessed by following along with us.
At the end, we also offer the scripture from Jesus' instructions to Nicodemus in John 3:6-8.
Spirit is available in several hymnals and forms, including the Chalice Hymnal, page # 249.
The words and music are written by James K. Manley, 1975.
DisciplesNet Church creates worship opportunities for persons who are unable to get to a physical church, and
others who like to share in the resources. This video is made available by those who have given their gifts to helpi in this ministry. We are non-profit and all gifts go back into ministry.
Thanks for joining us, and God bless you.
