Children’s Moment for Advent 4C – 19-Dec-21
19-Dec-21 (Luke 1:39-45)
Have you ever noticed how some people are treated differently because of the clothes they have ... or don't have? In the gospel story for today, Mary talks about how honored she is to be the one chosen to give birth to and raise the messiah. She says that "God has looked with favor on the lowliness of his servant." She means that God honored her a lot even though she wasn't from an important or wealthy family.
God does that a lot. God seems to choose people who aren't the biggest or the most important to give God's messages to the world.
So, look at yourself. You may not be very big. You're not yet adults. You may not be from an important or wealthy family. But God can and will use you to share the Good News of God's love with other people.
Let's pray about that.
Prayer
God, we thank you for coming to us through the small and humble people. It shows us that you will be able to come to others through people like us. Help us to love others enough to share your Good News with them. Help us to be the people you use to share your Good News.
We pray in Jesus' name. AMEN
