Children’s Moment (Gospel) Christmas B – 25-December-23
25-Dec-23 (John 1:1-14)
What do you think God looks like? [wait for answers]
Now some of those may be right. The thing is, we just don't know. The gospel writer John tells us that no one has ever seen God. But John also tells us there is a way to know what God is like: He says that, if we see Jesus, we'll understand what God is like.
Have you ever had a Grandparent or a teacher or someone else tell you that you have your mother's eyes or that your father used to do something just like what you did? It's something like that. If we look at what Jesus did, we can understand some important things about God.
Most importantly, we can understand that God loves us. God loves each one of us. God loves each one of us so much that nothing will keep us from that love.
Let's talk to God about that.
God, we thank you that you sent Jesus to us to help us know who you are and most importantly, to know that you love us. Help us to remember that you love us when we're feeling sad or afraid and help us to share that love with other people when they are sad or afraid.
We pray in Jesus' name.
