Children’s Moment for Easter Sunday – 9-Apr-23
9-Apr-23 (John 20:1-18) or (Matthew 28:1-10)
We say that today is a celebration of Jesus' resurrection, do you know what that means? [Wait for answers]
In today's stories from the gospels we see that Jesus was dead and the disciples were going to visit his body to take care of it, but when they arrived at the place where he was buried, they found that he wasn't dead any more. Later they saw him and he visited them a few times.
We may not see Jesus like the disciples did, but we can know that just like Jesus visited them, he can be with us. That means, even in the worst times, Jesus is there with us. Even when things are very hard, Jesus is with us. When we're afraid, or even just worried, Jesus is with us. We can count on that.
Let's pray about that.
God, we thank you that you raised Jesus from the dead so he could be with us and help us in our lives. Help us to remember that he's with us when we're hurt, or afraid. Help us to remember that Jesus is always with us.
We pray in Jesus' name.
AMEN.
