Children’s Moment for Easter C – 17-Apr-22
17-Apr-22
Have you ever been so happy and surprised by seeing something that you just couldn't wait to go and tell someone else about it. I'm not talking about the "Na-na-na-na-na-na I've got something you don't" type of thing. but the kind of "I'm so happy, I just want everybody else to know about this" type of thing. Maybe you got a book or a toy that you've been waiting for a long time. Even better, maybe someone came to visit and you had a really good time.
Mary was having a day like that.
It didn't start out that way. She thought her friend Jesus was gone forever and never coming back. He'd died. She missed him and she wished more than anything that she could have just a little more time with him.
And suddenly, there he was!
She didn't even recognize him at first because it was so unexpected. Then he said her name and she knew who he was.
Her friend Jesus had come back. She didn't know how. All she knew was that it was so exciting, so incredible, so great news that she just had to tell other people about it. And she did.
That's something we can do too. We can tell other people we meet about our friend Jesus and how much he helps us to be the kind of people we should be and especially how much God loves us all. That's pretty incredible itself. Let's go tell other people about it.
But let's pray first.
God, we thank you for the incredible news that Jesus is alive and that he can be with us wherever we are. We thank you that he teaches us about how to be good and helps us to do what we should. We thank you most of all that you love us and that you sent Jesus to tell us that.
Help us to share this incredible news with other people so they can be excited about it too.
Amen.
