Children’s Moment for Easter 6a – 14-May-23
14-May-23 (John 14:1-14)
Have you ever had a really good friend? Someone you could talk to and someone you just couldn't wait to tell about what had happened when you were away from each other?

Jesus told his disciples that he was going to go away. But he also said that he would send another friend that would be with them forever. Who do you think Jesus was talking about?
[Wait for answers]
He was talking about the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not a friend we can see, but the Spirit is a friend that will always be there. Whenever we feel lonely, whenever we really need someone to talk to, the Holy Spirit is always there to help us.
The Holy Spirit is more than just someone who listens to us, although that's pretty important. The Holy Spirit also helps us to remember what we've learned about God and helps us figure out what to do when things get confusing.
So when you just need a friend, or when you're really needing help figuring out the right thing to do, just ask for the Holy Spirit's help.
Let's talk to God about that.
God, we thank you for Jesus, who taught us a lot about you. We also thank you for our friend, the Holy Spirit, that Jesus sent to us to help us. Help us to remember to ask for your help. Send the Holy Spirit to us to help us be the kind of people you want us to be so that others will see you in what we do and say.
We pray in Jesus' name.
AMEN.
