Children’s Moment for Easter 7a – 21-May-23
21-May-23 (John 21:1-19)
Jesus was talking to his disciples right before he left. He said that they would be his witnesses. What is a witness? What does a witness do? [Wait for answers]
One of the most important things about a witness is that they're supposed to tell people about what they have seen themselves. You might talk about what some other people have said. You might also talk about what you've heard from others. But the most important thing to do as a witness is to talk about what you, yourself, have seen and felt.
So when we're Jesus' witnesses, we talk about what Jesus means to us. We talk about how Jesus has helped us. We talk about how we understand who God is because we know Jesus.
Let's talk to God about that.
God, we thank you for Jesus, who taught us a lot about you. We thank you that Jesus witnessed for you so that we could see what a witness does and how we can witness for you.
So, when people ask about you, help us to share what we know, what we've felt, what you mean to us.
We pray in Jesus' name.
AMEN.
