Children’s Moment for Christ the King Sunday – 21-Nov-21
21-Nov-21 (Christ the King)
When you think of a king, what kinds of things do you think of? What does a king wear? Where does a king live? How does a king behave toward other people?
We call Jesus a king, but Jesus is not a king in the same way that we were just talking about. Where other kings rule with armies and by making people afraid of what the king will do if they don't behave, Jesus works in our hearts to help us behave the way we should; to love God and to love others. While other kings gather treasure for themselves; while other kings want more and more power, Jesus gave up everything to show us how much God loves us.
We know that Jesus will never ask us to do anything to hurt ourselves or others. We know that Jesus will always want what's best for everyone.
That's why Jesus is our king. Jesus is our king because we want someone like that to rule us.
Prayer
God, we thank you for sending us Jesus to show us how to live. We thank you for sending Jesus to be the one who helps us to live by loving you and loving others. Help us to make Jesus our king so we can be the kind of people you want to serve you.
We pray in Jesus' name. AMEN
