Children’s Moment for Pentecost-a – 28-May-23
28-May-23 (Acts 2:1-21)
There's a lot of really fantastic stuff in our scripture story for today. There are tongues of fire and people speaking in all the known languages, and 3000 people joining the Church. But the thing is, probably the most important thing in today's story is quite normal. The most important thing that happened was that the disciples shared with other people what they knew about who Jesus is and what Jesus taught.
So we may never see tongues of fire. We may never see 3000 people join the Church in one day, though wouldn't that be great? What we can and should see is people, just like us, sharing what they know about who Jesus is, what Jesus means to us, and helping people know God through knowing Jesus.
Let's talk to God about that.
God, we thank you for Jesus, who taught us a lot about you. We thank you for all the people who told us about you so that we could know you.
So, when people ask about you, help us to share what we know, what you mean to us.
We pray in Jesus' name.
AMEN.
