Children’s Moment for Proper B24 – 20-Oct-24
20-Oct-24 (Mark 10:35-45)
Think about some very important people. Who are they? What do they do? [Wait for answers]
Now think of the most important person you know. What are they like? How do they show that they're important? How do they expect other people to act around them? How do they act around other people? [Wait for answers]
In our gospel story for today, Jesus has a talk with his disciples about being important. Do you know what he said would make you the greatest? [Wait for answers]
Jesus said that, if you wanted to be the greatest of his disciples, you need to be a servant of the others. Jesus even said that he didn't come to be served, but to give even his own life to serve others.
So the next time you think about being important or being great, remember Jesus and think about how to be great by serving others.
Let's pray about that.
Prayer
God, we thank you for sending us Jesus to help us to see what a real servant of others does. Help us to think about how to help others and to help them in all the ways we can. Help us to be great disciples by serving others.
We pray in Jesus' name. AMEN
