Children’s Moment for Proper C24 – 16-Oct-22
16-Oct-22 (Luke 18:1-8)
Let's pretend you need some help and you go to your parents or teachers for it. What do you think they will do? [Wait for answers]
Jesus tells a story about a really horrible judge that just doesn't care about anything. He tells about how a widow has to nag him and nag him until he finally gives up and gets her what she needs. The thing is that Jesus isn't telling this story because God is like that judge. He tells us that story so we can realize that God isn't that way. Just like you expect your parents and teachers will help you when you ask, God doesn't need to be nagged. God won't always give you what you want, but God will always help you when you really need help.
Let's pray about that.
God, we know that you will always help us in the ways we really need. We know we don't need to nag you in order for you to help us. Help us to remember that you really do love us and to share that love with others.
We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
