Children’s Moment for Proper C27 – 6-Nov-22
6-Nov-22 (Luke 20:27-38)
Jesus was asked a lot of questions when he was doing ministry. In the story for today, he was asked about marriage in heaven. It was a tough question because no one really knows a lot about what is going to happen after we die, but the folks that asked Jesus the question weren't even really interested in the answer. They were just trying to trick him. He answered them anyway.
What he said was that things will be very different from now. The things we think are most important right now won't be so important then. And that's probably the most important thing.
We pay so so much attention to things that seem important right now that we miss the really important stuff.
So, what do you think are the most important things we can do right now? [Wait for answers]
I think the most important things we can do right now are remembering how much God loves us and then showing God's love to other people.
Let's pray about that.
God, we thank you so much that Jesus shows us how much you love each one of us. Help us to show that love to other people by doing what's good for them. Help us to remember that you love everyone and help us to treat everyone well.
We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
