DisciplesNet Worship #160, “Impossible Requirements” (Shaw 10.06.2013)
Welcome! We invite you to join us for 30-minutes of worship time with DisciplesNet church, called to be here for whoever finds their way here from around the world and around the clock. Rev. Bob Shaw brings a message today of God's "Impossible Requirements" based upon Jesus' teachings about the faith of a mustard seed and a servant's perfect obedience.
Also, as we do every week, we extend the invitation for you to join as we celebrate the Lord's Supper, also known as breaking of the bread, communion, and the Eucharist. We believe that Christ invites, and all who would say "yes" to that invitation are called to take part.
This week is a special time of communion, as we observe World Communion Sunday. As DisciplesNet's Audrey Borschel leads us in communion, you will see additional partners at the table, reaching out with the bread and cup, as Jesus has extended this way of remembering, to the world.
The table at DisciplesNet overlaps barriers of time, place, and individual differences that may have been keeping you away. If you would like to join us today, we suggest that you make ready some type of bread and some type of drink (we use grape juice, but wine or even water will work).
As we pray then for the bread and cup, we will pray that our blessing extends to where you are. If you are unable or prefer not to eat or drink with us at this time, you may want to meditate or go through the motions or use mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us.
We hope that as you join us for worship you will feel a blessing from being part, and will share word about us with others. Please tell friends, family, and others you know about our online church that is here with doors that are always open, walls as wide as the world, and always room at the table.
If you are not satisfied with your time with us, we would appreciate knowing that, too, as we are constantly working to improve what we do and connect with people, and your feedback will help us grow better.
May God bless you richly!
