DisciplesNet Worship # 20, “In God’s Eyes” (Phelps 03-13-2011)
Part of this Sunday's worship was redone at the last hour because of the unfolding tragedy in Japan after the 8.9 magnitude earthquake and the ensuing tsunami. Most of all, we wanted to have a strong moment of prayer in support of the people of Japan, and also for the individuals who have been tuning in from Japan to the worship videos.
DisciplesNet Senior Minister Deb Phelps delivers the message on this video, explaining the DisciplesNet Core 4 values. The focus of this one is the value of seeing other people of the world as beloved children of God, rather than than using human-made labels for them. Musical support for the video come from Dean Phelps and Audrey Borschel leading in the singing of "Be Thou My Vision" and "Jesu, Jesu."
Special gifts shared in this worship are a dulcimer lead-in to worship by Susan McNeely, and the beautiful liturgical dance of Pastor Blanche Edwards to the spirit-touching harmony of Rev. Dr. Twana A. Harris and Rev. Dean Phelps singing "Sweet Little Jesus Boy." We pray that you will be blessed in sharing in this short time of worship together.
