DisciplesNet Worship #292, “Repent, Nurture” (Huber 02.28.2016)

The word "repent" can be a scary one. Indeed, we must take to heart Jesus' call to his disciples to repent, to turn from whatever keeps us from God. Yet our message today asks us to look more carefully at just what it is that Jesus is calling his disciples to repent and do. We're honored to have Daren Huber bringing our message today, speaking from Luke 13:1-9 Daren is a friend of DisciplesNet and a seminary student at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
This week's worship is just over 27 minutes long, with singing, scripture, and prayer to join our short message. And as we do every week, we will share communion together at the end of worship (breaking of the bread). We pass along the invitation to join in or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me."
If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond all earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink, such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers are given to extend to where you are If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us. (Scroll down for an Order of Worship)
We hope that as you join us for worship you will feel a blessing from being part. Please tell friends, family, and others you know about our online church that is here with doors that are always open, walls as wide as the world, and always room at the table.
