DisciplesNet Worship # 36, “Telling the Old, Old Story” (Phelps 06 19 11)
Today's worship looks at telling the old, old story in new ways, extending the nets in a way that can cover the world. For this, we look at the scripture in Matthew 28:16-20 where Jesus' gives the "Great Commission" and the apostle Paul's image of the body of Christ in 1 Corinthians 12:12-28.
Giving today's message is DisciplesNet senior pastor Deb Phelps. Bob Shaw gives the pastoral prayer. Our communion message is given by guest pastor, Rev. Daniel Harry, of Wheeling, West Virginia. Reading scripture are Micheal Dodds, seminary student at Christian Theological Seminary, and DisciplesNet media minister Janet Spaulding.
Singing along music for todays worship are the favorites,
"I Love to tell the Story," "Eat This Bread," and "Here I Am, Lord."
"Here I Am Lord" is sung by our Mercy Singers 2, a second group of individuals who gathered to offer their spirited singing to record for congregational following-along, on June 16, 2011, at Central Christian Church, Indianapolis, IN, USA, led by Audrey Borschel, DisciplesNet Church.
Production notes: this worship was delayed in release by some technical and production glitches, so released on Tuesday, not Sunday of the week. Nevertheless, we hope you will find inspiration in following along with us in worshiping together at DisciplesNet Church.
