DisciplesNet Worship # 38. “Yoked with Christ” (Borschel 07 03 11)
From hymn favorites "On Eagle's Wings" and "I Was There to Hear Your Borning Cry" to an inspiring message drawn from real life experiences, among other things, our prayer is that you will be uplifted and inspired from worshiping with us today. During our short time together we look at the sense of living a life connected to God and to Christ, drawing on the passage from Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Adding to today's worship are beautiful photos for reflection, and music by the volunteer choirs that help DisciplesNet with congregational singing (we call them, "Mercy Choirs": "On Eagle's Wings" and "I Was There to Hear Your Borning Cry," and "Jesus, Remember Me." And our worship begins with the intrumental gifts of Beverly Carmichael Heid playing, "On Eagle's Wings."
Following the benediction is a special gift, the singing of a host of seasoned Disciples clergy, missionaries, and spouses, singing "Blest Be the Tie That Binds" while at their monthly gathering in Indianapolis, meeting at Brookdale Robin Run Retirement Center. This month they gathered to hear more about DisciplesNet, and we offer their song to you as their gift.
