DisciplesNet Worship # 51, “The Third Side of the Coin” (Borschel 10 09 2011)
DisciplesNet Worship #51 celebrates the feast of St. Francis of Assissi, while exploring the meaning of Christ’s commandment to “render unto Ceasar what is Ceasar’s, and unto God what is God’s. In this week’s message, Audrey Borschel recites St. Francis’ “Canticle of the Creatures (Sun), and explores the Pharisees’ attempt to trick Jesus. A special part of the service involves an old tradition of blessing the animals - have your pets near at the end of the service for this portion of our worship together.
Our music today is provided by the congregation of Southport Christian Church (“Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee”) and their praise band (“Jesus Messiah”), the DisciplesNet Mercy Choir (“Let Us Break Bread Together”), and opening with Phoebe Spier, accompanied by Dean Phelps, on “How Great Thou Art”. Visual images accompany the reading from the creation story in Genesis, the Canticle of the Creatures during the message, and the prayer of St. Francis.
We hope you will be blessed in spending 30 minutes worshiping together here, and will pass along our link to others who could benefit from finding this church on the web.
