Joel 2:12-13a
Yet even now, says the LORD,
return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning;
rend your hearts and not your clothing.
Return to the LORD, your God,
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love.

Holy One
    the One who knows our transgressions and
        desires truth in our hearts;
Accept our sacrifice of a broken heart.
    and create in us a clean heart, washed of our sins.
This we pray in the name of you Son,
      our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus the Christ.
