Jesus Loves Me,” reassurance for children of all ages
"Jesus Loves Me" is a 24-minute music, picture and scripture video for children of all ages. We created this video especially for children (and adults) who may be ill, injured, fearful, sad or troubled--including in hospital or hospice)--with the idea of bringing hope and assurance of God's love and care. However, we believe that many will find moments of peace in this offering, which features a diversity of children and adults, nature scenes and footage of animals and scenery from around the world. Included are some moments of fun, as well as many scenes that provide good talking points for children about life and faith.
Beginning with "Jesus Loves Me" in English and Spanish, the video moves fluidly from one song to the next, taking in several comforting favorite scriptures from the Old and New Testaments. A special gift here is the addition of two new songs by talented song-writer, minister, theologian, and seminary president, Rev. Dr. Matthew Myer Boulton: "Music," and "Noah's Lullaby."
We've included the words for songs as we do with our weekly Sunday DisciplesNet worships, encouraging as you watch to be active participants and sing along if you would like.
We offer this video to individuals, parents, pastors, chaplains, healthcare workers, shelters, and all others who choose to use it or share it to help bring a sense of God's peace. You may choose to watch it first before sharing it with your audience to make sure it suits your particular needs. Our prayer is that God will bless you through this blessing that others have sent out on your behalf.
Music: "Jesus Loves Me," (and Spanish-language version, "Cristo me ama"), "This Little Light of Mine," "Music (We are Going)," "Down to the River to Pray," "Jesus Loves Me--Hallelujah," "Amazing Grace," "Noah's Lullaby." Artists: Dean Phelps, Butterflyfish band (Matthew Myer Boulton, Elizabeth Myer Boulton), Twana A. Harris, Phoebe Spier, Kara Barnard, Ruth Adams.
Scripture: Mark 10: 13-16 (Jesus calls the children to him), Romans 8:35, 37-39 (what shall separate us from the love of Christ), Psalm 23 (the Lord is my shepherd), John 14: 27 (Let not your heart be troubled)
This video was made possible through donations of persons giving to support DisciplesNet's ministry of reaching people who might otherwise not be able to get to church or have a minister available to them in times of need--as well as those who simply need a spiritual pick-me-up, including pastors, childcareworkers, musicians, medical and rescue personnel, and caregivers.
In particular this video was created with memorial funds given in memory of Ruth Adams, a strong advocate, worker, and supporter of DisciplesNet. She was helping with this video when she suffered a stroke and passed away during its creation.
Gifts to the Ruth Adams Memorial Fund, or in the name of other individuals to which you would like to make a memorial gift, will make it possible for DisciplesNet to continue to reach out to persons in times of need but who may be disconnected from the church.
