Offering Meditation for Easter 3b – 14-April-24
14-April-24 (Luke 24:36b-48)
In that experience the disciples had of Jesus after the resurrection, their minds and hearts were comforted, their minds were opened to understand the scriptures and the ministry that Jesus was calling them to from then on.
In the same way the Church has the task of standing with people who are oppressed and burdened by deep concerns, we teach people how to understand the scriptures, we prepare ourselves for the ministry that God has called us to do. And, in the same way as these disciples we go out into the wider world to share all this with others.
Part of doing that is supplying our own abilities and time. Part of it is giving generously to allow others to do that as well.
Let's consider the ways we can do that as we take up our offering for today.
Prayer:
Please join me now in prayer.
God, we thank you for Jesus and all we've learned through him. We thank you for your continued presence with the Church as we go about your work. Bless these offerings that they may be used well in doing your work in the world and help us to see all the ways that we can be a part of that.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Christ, AMEN.
