12-May-24 (John 17:6-19)

Jesus sent us "into the world." We do that in all kinds of ways. We have ministries that are concerned with people within our own congregation. To help them to learn about what Jesus taught and to help them put those teachings into action. We have ministries with people in the communities around us, to meet real needs and to help them in times of trouble. We have ministries that reach far into the world and touch the lives of others far away.
All of those ministries need our time, our abilities, and our financial resources to function. That's why we have a time of offering, to both give and commit to giving of all those things.
Consider how you can give as we take up our offering for today.

Please join me now in prayer.
God who generously gives us all good things, help us to go into our world, sharing your love in words and in deeds with the people we meet, both face-to-face and through the ministries that extend our reaching out across the world.
Give us kind and generous hearts so that we can represent your love in our world.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Christ, AMEN.
