Offering Meditation for Epiphany C7 – 23-Feb-25
23-Feb-25 (Luke 6:27-38)
Jesus tells us that our concern and care are not to be reserved for people who love us back. We are to love those who are our enemies. We are to love those who we've never met (and probably won't ever meet.) We are to love those nearby and those far away.
So it is that we give of our time and efforts and financial resources so that the work of God can be done within this congregation, in our city, and throughout our world.
Offering is one way we have to share God's love in the same way that God does, with each and every one, where they are and whatever needs they have.
Let's consider our role in that as we take up our offering for today.
Prayer:
Please join me in an attitude of prayer.
God who loves each and all of us, help us to be instruments of that love by giving of ourselves and our resources in your work.
Bless us, that we might grow as ambassadors of your love in our world. Bless these offerings as well that they would be put to your purposes where there is need.
We pray in the name of your son, who taught us how to love. Amen.
