Offering Meditation for Proper B25 – 27-Oct-24
27-Oct-24 (Mark 10:46-52)
"What do you want me to do for you?" One of the things that we need to think about in what we do for others is whether we are doing things that make us feel good or are we doing things that really meet needs and help others.
In all the ways we serve, whether it is to people within this congregation, people in our city or our nation, or people elsewhere in the world, we need to know what will truly help, what will meet the needs while allowing people to keep their dignity, what will help them move forward.
Part of the way to answer that question is just what Jesus did. We ask, "What is it that you want us to do for you?"
While we consider how we can participate it visible and tangibly sharing God's love in our world, let us also commit to meeting the needs before us in the best way possible.
Let us pray.
Prayer:
Please join me now in prayer.
God who meets us where we are in life and gives us what we truly need, help us, as your hands and feet, and voice in this world to reach out to others with generosity and also with care and concern for the people we serve.
Help us to meet the needs we see in the best way we can.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Christ, Amen.
