Offering Meditation for Proper 20B – 22-Sep-24
22-Sep-24 (Mark 9:30-37)
Being a "servant of all" seems like a lot of work. Is it even possible? Not by ourselves alone. But one of the things that the Church as a whole can do is combine our abilities, our time, and our financial resources to make it possible. Our congregation reaches out to those who are a part of the congregation, people in our city, and people all throughout the world who are in need of food, shelter, support, and care.
The offering is one way that we combine our resources to do that.
Let's consider how we can do our part as we take up the offering for today.
Prayer:
Please join me now in prayer.
God, whose loves reaches out throughout the Earth, help us to take part in sharing your love with others in the things we say and the things we do.
We pray also for these gifts, returned to you to be put to that work. Bless them and multiply them that we, as your Church, indeed, could indeed become servants of all.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Christ, AMEN.
