Offering Meditation for Thanksgiving B – 26-Nov-24
26-Nov-24 (Matthew 6:25-33)
In our gospel reading for today, Jesus talks about worrying and says, "Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" That's true, but as we all know there are things that can go wrong all the time. We probably know of people who are without enough food or don't have a good home to live in. One of the things the Church does is to work to meet the needs of others. Remember that the same Jesus who says, "Don't worry about having food to eat." is also the one who said, "You give them something to eat." Sometimes we are the answers to other people's prayers.
We have an opportunity to give of ourselves and our resources in order to do the work of God in our world. As we take up our offering for today, consider what God is placing on your heart to give.
Prayer:
Please join me now in prayer.
God who has so richly blessed us and continues to care for us, help us to be instruments of that love. Help others to see you in our actions as we work to meet the real needs of people around us.
Bless these gifts, that they will be put to your work in the world.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Christ, Amen.
