6-Feb-22 (Luke 5:1-11)
There are times, in our relationship with Jesus, where God's perfection and the sense of our own sinfulness collide and, like Peter, all we can say is "Lord, you should have nothing to do with me. I'm just a sinful human being."
Yet Jesus welcomes Peter and all those other sinful people into the Realm of God and, here at this Table, Jesus extends that same welcome to all of us sinners.
Let us pray.
Prayer:
God whose grace is greater than all our sin, we thank you for your loving invitation to become part of your realm. We thank you for Jesus, who endured suffering and death to make it possible for us. We thank you for these symbols of bread and cup that remind us of all he gave.
As we take the bread and cup, renew your Spirit within us that we will go from here to share the same loving invitation that we have received.
In the name of Jesus, our Savior, Amen.
